Monster in our midst

“I’m on the train,I’m in the bus queue”
Loud enough for all to hear,
Even in the supermarket
“Do we need some cut-price beer?

Ringing,chirping playing jingles
Sounds to make you really stressed,
Can’t they speak a little softer,
Better still,give it a rest.

How did we manage in the old days
Take a journey,pass an hour
Meet for dinner or a coffee
Without the aid of mobile power?

We’re forced to listen to their chit-chat
Anywhere and everywhere,
Often in quite gory detail,
Boy-friend problems,souls laid bare

Even worse,the ones with cameras
Posing,gurning ,mooning too
Everything’s a photo moment
Snapped by me to send to you.

Switch them off, it won’t be fatal,
Listen to the plea I’m bringing,
Oops I’m sorry got to go now,
Just realised my mobile’s ringing.
